Setting sail, acting for earth
The Transat Jacques Vabre Normandie le Havre has been the longest and most demanding transatlantic double handed race for the past 28 years.
Its mission: to inspire, gather, engage and communicate using a recognized sailing event that values performance whilst also respecting the environment and the men and women who take part.
Imagine innovative solutions for sustainable development around renewable energy, circular economy and the preservation of marine biodiversity.
Integrating citizen science element and open source data project
To enhance the impact of your project, we encourage you to integrate one of these two elements:
- Use and appreciation of marine data: by race participants, that would be into existing open data frameworks (Ifremer, Shom, Météo France...) and helping establish the race as an enabler for data collection now and in future editions
- Citizen engagement: Their participation in the different innovations will increase their impact upon improving ocean environment and other maritime issues.
